Ronald McDonald Race Results

I made it to the finish line! I started out the morning thinking I might not be able to run. I was having some bad pain in the back of my thigh. Thought I had pulled a muscle but the more I looked at it and treated it with some heat I think it is related to my Scleroderma. I have lost a lot of muscle mass in the past couple months. I am going to be seen my a new doctor on May 31st to treat my Scleroderma. I can't wait to be treated for a couple minor problems I have been having and get some physical therapy. I think it will really help me become a better runner! Anyways, I completed the race in 33:24...4 seconds better than my last race. I would have been beating myself up about that but, I was very happy with that. After I started out running my leg was good to go. I think I stretched and warmed up a lot and it helped. The race included three hills, two of which were bridges! I was not expecting these and do not get a lot of practice with hills since there are NONE in Georgia. So finishing 4 seconds better than my last race I was excited because those hills slowed me down a bit but I pushed myself. I even was talking to myself like it tells me to in this awesome new running book I am reading. I didn't think anyone was around me at the time and I was telling myself..."Come on you can do it! Just over this last bridge and the finish line is right there and you can take it in strong! You can get that time you want!" Just as I finish this girl comes up on the side of me. This was fine but, she had no headphones! Haha...I just laughed it out! My next race is the Susan G. Komen on Saturday. It is downtown Savannah so it will be all flat and I am hoping to come in at least a minute better! I will keep you all posted!
